What We Do

Pika Furniture Studio specializes in producing built-in and freestanding furniture that is more complex than your standard cabinet package.  

Many fabrication shops have specialized in creating large packages or you can find a purist woodworker who is operating out of their garage to make a handmade piece. Pika was founded to fall somewhere in the middle of the two.  

We are a team of 8 people who love the entire process of woodworking, from design to execution. We are small enough that we can create a specialty product that is up to high standards, but large enough that we can handle big jobs and keep our lead times reasonable. Our main focus is quick turn around times with our current furniture line and custom freestanding furniture pieces. We also do a lot of small to medium built-ins such as bathroom vanities, TV room walls, offices, and entries. 

For furniture, we have the capabilities here to do just about anything. We pride ourselves in being able to handle more complex projects and have a specialized team that is capable of keeping up with the details. There are many cabinet shops, but Pika is here to make quality pieces of art. We are on the journey to keep learning as we build, and for that reason we are always looking for the next challenge.

    • We work with mild steel for most pieces here at the shop. When needed we partner with other manufacturers who work in brass, bronze, and other metal materials.  

  • We do panel upholstery and couch builds here at the shop with spring packs and foam selection capabilities. We collaborate with local upholstery shops for our cushions or when a full upholstery suite is needed. 

  • Dedicated spray booth and finisher with a lifetime of experience. If you need a custom match or finish, we can do it. We use high end spray finishes that offer maximum durability for your furniture. Conversion varnish and 2k poly have been our choices over the years that we work with the most. If you want a lower VOC product, we also use a water based Italian product made by Milesi that has the best dead flat look we’ve found, and it has a durability on par with the other finishes we use.

Things we do not do:  

  • We are not a large scale production facility for cabinets. We focus more on medium to small built in projects that fit our shop size so we can focus on higher quality details.  

  • We do not do furniture repairs or modifications on things we do not make here at the shop. The cost on most furniture pieces end up being more than the client wants to spend.
